Hey, welcome back to The SCEM VIEW, with Deric. For over two months now, we've been exploring and discussing various topics and content from my Strategic Communication & Emerging Media (SCEM)COM6630 course. As a part of our overall grade, we were required to create a blog and post weekly. And as the host, I have taken us a quite the journey. Traditional media, mobile communication, social media, blogging, citizen journalism, crowdsourcing and branding all make a little more sense to me now and it is my hope that you guys have benefited from The SCEM View as well and maybe even enjoyed it too! But, the term is now over and we are going to taking a brief break. Nonetheless, I still want you all to keep a SCEM View in mind and share with us new stuff once we kick off the next season! And on that note, I'm going to close things out and wish everybody well on your individual journeys in the meantime. I'll Catch you guys right back here next time for The SCEM View, with Deric.

Later!

As you know, I’m pursuing a master’s degree in Strategic Communication at Troy University. This show (blog) was created to explore and discuss various topics and explore the content in my Strategic Communication & Emerging Media (SCEM) course. And I’m glad to have you back! Quick recap of last weeks show, my COM 6630 class briefly explored social media and how it is one of the biggest nightmares facing strategic communication professionals. We took a look into the world of modern networking and how it’s been impacted by social media i.e., such as Facebook and Instagram. I proposed the question, ‘Are business cards still important today with such a var...
Hey, I’m Bob. What’s You Instagram info? September 12, 2017 By: Deric Kennedy Have social media replaced the need for business cards? Hey, welcome back to The SCEM VIEW, with Deric. As you know, I’m pursuing a master’s degree in Strategic Communication at Troy University and this blog was created to explore the content we discuss each week in my Strategic Communication & Emerging Media (SCEM) course. Glad to have you back with us! Quick recap of last week, my COM 66030 class briefly explored mobile technologies and the way they are changing the way people seek information. Some of these changes were positive, some were not. We discussed the impact mobile technologies have made on a few great classic American traditions- my high school class reunion being one of them. My topic proposed the question, has technology killed my class reunion? We concluded the following: While class reunion attendance has declined tremendously across the board in the past deca...
